Technopark opened civil and electrical engineering laboratories in its Phase I campus on Thursday.
Technopark CEO Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd) formally inaugurated the labs in the presence of Ms Jayanthi L, CFO, Mr Madhavan Praveen, GM-Projects, and staff members.
Technopark officials said the new facility is a testament to ensuring the standards and quality assurance of the construction and electrical works, including the LT & HT materials.
The labs are designed to serve as a hub for testing various parameters and the quality of construction and electrical materials used in Technopark's works.
“With the setting up of the engineering laboratory, Technopark would be in a better position to ensure the quality of the infrastructure works of Technopark as well as providing necessary technical guidance to its co-developers,” said Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd).
“The laboratory will also be a learning centre for the engineering students visiting the campus,” he added.
The Engineering Department of Technopark has developed laboratories to perform tests according to IS specifications and provide results in a timely manner.
Developers and companies located in and around Technopark can also utilise this lab to ensure quality and compliance with their construction specifications.
The electrical lab has provisions for repairing LED fixtures, drivers, and other components, which could reduce e-waste and cut costs.
The laboratory currently has facilities for testing concrete and construction materials for various parameters. It is also in the process of obtaining accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), which is anticipated soon.
Mr Rahul Thampi RI, AGM (Civil), will head all the activities of the Civil Engineering Laboratory with support of his team.
The electrical testing laboratory will be headed by Mr Anafal A, Manager-Electrical and supported by his team.
The lab also has antique machinery on display, which sheds light on past technology.
