Thiruvananthapuram, July 24: Calling for a major shift in the perception to make workplaces inclusive, Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd), CEO, Technopark emphasised upon exploring employment of differently abled as a CSR initiative by IT companies by making work space conducive for people with disabilities.
Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd) was speaking after inaugurating the cultural event, ‘Unified Voices,’ organized by KINFRA Park-based Different Art Centre (DAC) of Magic Planet, at Technopark here last evening. Shri Gopinath Muthukad, Executive Director of Different Art Centre was also present.
The event showcased talents of differently abled children, who gave a scintillating performance of dance, singing, magic and mimicry, besides displaying their creativity in painting at exhibition area.
Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd) said promoting social inclusion of people with disabilities can generate immense goodwill and drive businesses for companies.
“Companies in Technopark are doing quite a lot of CSR activities which are more related to product-based and some are service-based activities, but employment of Persons with Disabilities (PwD) would be a different dimension of CSR activity and can be seriously thought about,” the CEO suggested.
