Cuban Delegation visits Technopark; keen on forging partnership in capacity building

Thiruvananthapuram, October 3: A high-profile Cuban delegation visited Technopark here on Friday and expressed keen interest in collaborating with the campus’s capacity building facilities and training models.Significantly, this is the second visit of the delegation to Technopark this year.

The three-member delegation comprised Mr. Angel Oscar Pino Hernandez, General Director of XETID, a Havana-based information technology company; Mr. Saumel Tejeda Diaz, Business Director of  XETID and Ms Guadalupe de Regla Fromenta Gomez, translator.

They held discussions with Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd.), CEO of Technopark and Mr. Vasanth Varada, Deputy Vice President (Marketing & Customer Relationship), who briefed them on the salient features of the state’s robust  IT ecosystem and achievements of Technopark.

Col Nair pointed out how the presence of various capability building centres in Technopark including Digital University of Kerala, Gtech’s Mulearn, ICT Academy, CDAC, KSpace etc have enhanced the IT work force in the state. He assured to facilitate the collaboration of developing capability building centres and training programs in Cuba through formal channel.

Col Nair (Retd.) also explained how Technopark’s government-aided model has helped in developing a future-ready IT ecosystem of the state. Noting that the state has been a leader in many aspects, including socio-economic development, he said apart from having a robust ecosystem, the capital city boasts of world-class infrastructure, talent pool and connectivity.

“We were really impressed by the Technopark model during our first visit itself. Now, we are looking forward to collaborate with the Technopark in the area of capacity building and training ,” said Angel Oscar Pino Hernandez.

The delegation has signed a business collaboration agreement with Foxdale Pvt. Ltd., a Technopark-based company, for the development of their flagship project, “Dr Connect Live” — an advanced virtual hospital platform designed to revolutionize digital healthcare delivery. And they met Mr Padmakumar GN, managing director of Foxdale during their visit.
